I recently had the opportunity to put together a gift basket from World Market. I quite honestly adore that store. There are so many amazing items, but I was inspired by a fall table runner and ended up putting together a Fall Tasting Basket. How stinkin’ cute are those little tasting bowls, cups, spoons and plates? I feel like it’s a party being put together for kings and queens just like Riley does with her tea party set. LOVE! Everything came from World Market, including the basket and wrapping. I just love that it’s a one stop shop!
I couldn’t just keep the items for myself so I put together the basket for a newly married couple that were talking about throwing an appetizer oriented dinner party. I (being my bossy self) easily persuaded her to make it a Fall Tasting Party. It, of course, helped that I promised to make all the food and help set up. Luckily, this girl loves to plan a good party. I especially love seeing it all put together. Our menu consisted of foods from our summer gardens as well as my recent apple picking adventures with Riley.
The menu included: collard greens & sausage served over polenta, zuchini & garlic mini quiches, homemade cream of tomato soup with a side of grilled brie & cranberry sandwich, maple brandy coffee, and mini apple pies topped with vanilla ice cream. YUM! I promise the recipes for the collard greens & sausage served over polenta, maple brandy coffee and mini apple pies will be up soon. Those are all mine. My mom is, of course, ahemming right now because the apple pie filling is definitely all hers!
The food was absolutely amazing, as was the company. I have a quick confession to make though. I’m finding that I’m beginning to actually enjoying cooking food. I’ve always been more a dessert girl, but the food from this party showed me what I am actually capable of. I could use a little more practice and guidance, which is why I’m so excited for the World Market Sweepstakes!
I would be over the moon excited to win this fabulous prize. Who knows, I could be the next Master Chef. Lol!

It looked amazing – I can almost taste that tomatoe soup. I have so many tomatoes to use up, I think this might be on the menu this week.
