The Detox Diva Spotlight

Over the last couple of months I’ve spotlighted the fabulous site The Detox Diva.  Today I’m asking some specific questions to get to know Jacqueline a little better.

1.  Who has influenced your life?
My grandmother taught me never to settle for anything less than what I wanted in life.  She encouraged me to do everything I wanted before I settled down so I would have no regrets, encouraged me to be powerful, taught me to be charming, graceful, (and to always wear sexy undies because “even if no one knows they are there you will and you will carry yourself like a lady.”)  She taught me to speak French, cheered me on when I wanted to go to school in Europe, and and boosted my confidence to go after what everyone else told me was a “life not fit for a girl” full of adventure.
2.  What is your favorite quote and why?
Coco Chanel once said “In order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different.”  I have always marched to the beat of my own drum and have followed my passions.  It is one of the qualities I want to impart to my daughters, to not be followers; to be trendsetters and with their experiences help shape society and culture for the better; to be different and memorable and therefore unforgettable and irreplaceable.
3.  If you could jump on a plane today, who would you take and where
would you go?
As a world traveler since very young, I have been to many amazing places around the globe.  My husband and I, in fact, just got back from a trip to India (and live in the Middle East much of the year.)  If I could hop a plane right now, it would be to go back to where we got married, the Seychelles, which is truly paradise.  Of course, I would take my husband.
4.  What is one thing you always have to have in your purse?
Hand lotion.  My hands take a beating every day with the sand and heat where we live.  My Antipodes Hand Cream is something I cannot live without being in my handbag.  A pack of Blax clear hair bands would be a close second as my hair is always getting in the way and these are the easiest ways to pull it back into cute ponytails or pig tails without the snags and ugly colors of most elastic bands.
5.  What would a family member say is your best quality (personality wise)?
My husband loves that my personality enters a room before I do.  He loves that I am adaptable to any culture and can talk to anyone with confidence and ease. That strength is sometimes my downfall and we butt heads but he says that it is a small price to pay to know that I can always hold my own in any social situation.
Jacqueline shows us ways to cleanse our life and lead healthier lifestyles through The Detox Diva.  You can follow along as well through multiple avenues.
