Eco-friendly Living

November 28, 2012 by Jenny Melrose

Roughly, five years ago Joe and I decided that we were ready for a family.  As some of you may remember from my Infertility Awareness post, we struggled to get pregnant with Riley.   When we finally did end up pregnant I did everything that my doctor told me in order to keep that little baby inside of me as healthy as possible.  I made sure to watch what I ate and my biggest downfall was a chocolate milk shake that was largely due to my husband’s influence.  {Winks!}  I now have this beautiful, almost three year old and I’ve made sure to keep an eye on the products that I use on Riley.

With our recent announcement of baby number two being on the way, I want to use products that are eco-friendly, affordable and convenient.  My new found love with a great family oriented company is with The Honest Company.

My absolute favorite products are the body lotion and healing balm.  We are constantly washing our hands in our house.  There’s always some sort of germ flying around at school as well as at Riley’s daycare.  So we need all the help we can get when it comes to dried and cracked hands.

The Honest Company was started by a mom and a dad who, like many modern parents, were increasingly worried about products made with questionable chemical ingredients. But the alternatives they found were often expensive, inaccessible, bland, or ineffective. In response to this clear need for something better, they created The Honest Company to ensure that parents (or anyone for that matter!) could easily find natural and non-toxic eco-friendly products that are beautiful, effective, and affordable. From customized product bundles to diapers and wipes to an ever-expanding line of cleaning and personal care products, you can find everything you need at and have it delivered directly to your front door.
