Birthdays have always been a huge ordeal in my family. My mom always made sure that we felt special on our birthdays growing up and I want my girls to feel the same. We usually have a fun themed birthday party for the girls, but it’s not always on the day of their birthday so I wanted to step it up a notch this year by creating fun, new birthday traditions for the girls.
Are you gasping? Don’t worry it’s washable and actually more like easily wipeable. I got the idea to let Riley “pimp” out my car because her school has this huge rock in front of it. On a daily basis the rock gets repainted to celebrate a birthday girl or boy. The whole family comes and helps paint it with the birthday girl’s or boy’s name and age. They get to add any colors and designs that they want to that rock. I decided that I should give Riley the opportunity to do the same since her birthdate was already filled for the rock this year.
When it comes to our cars, Joe has a tendency to be a bit more meticulous about the cleanliness of our cars, but mine is newer so we really didn’t want to take any chances. We used our ChalkOla Markers to create our design. The markers worked perfectly and we quickly learned after Avery went to town on my license plate that they are easily wiped off. The chalk markers are premium wet wipe markers that can be used on non porous surfaces like glass, whiteboards, mirrors, plastics, chalkboards and ceramics. As a former teacher, I’ve clearly used dry erase markers before, but unlike dry erase markers there wasn’t a harsh scent with the ChalkOla Markers. Plus, they worked similar to paint so the colors are vibrant and clear.
This is clearly a birthday tradition that we are going to stick with. I’m also thinking I’m going to need to integrate into our holiday traditions as well. How cute would a reindeer and a santa look on my back window? They’d be perfect to write cute morning notes on the mirrors in the girls’ bathroom as well. Oooh! You’ll definitely be seeing some pictures on Instagram of that! Follow along HERE to find out what we’re up to. How would use the chalk markers?
