I am extremely fortunate that every day when I go to work, I have the comfort of knowing that my girls are being taken care of by one of the most amazing and patient women I know. My mom! My girls, along with three of their cousins spend the day at grandma’s house. How she does it, I honestly have no idea. Riley is the oldest at four and Avery is the youngest at 7 months. My mom calls it “The Zoo”. Over the summer, I promised my mom I would come up with some playroom ideas to help her get her basement playroom ready for all the kidlets in the Fall. My parents live in a raised ranch so the basement playroom is the only way for the babies to get a decent nap when the preschoolers are home. My first and absolute favorite project was the Under the Stairs Kitchen. I clearly had Riley in mind with all the purple accessories, which you most likely know from our Toddler-Newborn Room.

There’s something about Back to School that makes me itch for organization. This school year I’m going to need to be ultra organized in order to get both kids out the door by 6 am to get them to grandma’s house so that I can be to school by 7:30. Yep, it’s an hour and half round trip, but can you beat knowing that grandma has them? So to get us all in gear I’ve put together some Back to School Organization projects that’ll have you ready in no time.

Living in a two bedroom condominium can make things tight for a family of four. When we originally purchased our home we bought with the intention of only being there for a couple of years. The housing market crashed six months after we purchased our first home and we found ourselves underwater on the value of our home. The two bedroom condo was perfect for our family of three, but we recently welcomed the addition of Avery Elizabeth to our family and needed to change our toddler’s room from a big girl room meant for an only child into a Newborn – Toddler Room that works for two children. Luckily, we have two girls so the decor did not need to be changed. We just needed to get creative with the space that we have.
