Date Night Ideas

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Groupon for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

Joe and I have slowly realized that date nights are far and few between and it’s not just because we have the girls now.  Both of our schedules are crazy.  He often works second shift which makes dinner at  home or out virtually impossible.  So when we do have the opportunity to get out together, we try to make it a great date night {even if we are incessantly checking our phones to make sure the girls are okay}.  Joe and I both love food and we especially enjoy it when the food itself is an experience.  Therefore, a food experience is one of the best Date Night Ideas in my book and we recently had the opportunity to experience this through Groupon with Buy a meal.

Date Night Ideas

One of my favorite things about eating at a restaurant has become trying to figure out the ingredients and the cooking technique of the food that I’m eating.  I believe this is largely due to shows like Hell’s Kitchen and Master Chef.  Joe and I had a definite dining experience when we went to The Melting Pot recently.  Neigther one us as have ever fondued before.  I know, GASP!  It would definitely top my list of Date Night Ideas.

Date Night Ideas Cheese Fondue

Our first course was the cheese fondue where we quickly learned why the temperature of the restaurant was so cold when we first walked in.  No, it wasn’t because we live in NY and it’s already freezing either.  Those little tabletop stoves get HOT!  Our waitress was great.  She let me know everything that she was putting into our Loaded Baked Potato Cheddar Fondue.  I was especially intrigued by the Goddess mixture {sour cream, chives, and cream cheese}.  All my favorite things.

Joe and I chatted while eating, but started wondering about dinner when they brought out our Mojo to warm up on the table. We had no idea that the food was going to come out raw and that it was our job to cook it.  Did you all know that?!  {face palm}.  It was fabulous!  Our marinade was Caribbean-seasoned bouillon with a distinctive fresh-garlic flavor and a citrus flair.  It gave the vegetables, shrimp and meat amazing flavor in very little time.

Date Night Ideas Chocolate Fondue

The final course was dessert, which was out of this world and would be the perfect reason to bring Riley there for dessert.  If you’re a chocolate lover then you definitelly need to try it out.  The great thing is that Groupon is offering a chance to win $100 Groupon Bucks to spend during the Taste of Groupon when you share the best dish you’ve ever had at a restaurant.  Just simply Submit a phototo Instagram, Twitter or Groupon’s page.  Plus, Groupon is offering an extra 12% off your meal purchase on 10/23 from 6am to 6pm with the code (TASTE12).    It’s a win-win!
