For our fifth wedding anniversary my parents gave us a crystal bowl from Galway, Ireland that I absolutely love. Every holiday I try to make sure that I use it as our centerpiece on our dining room table. Christmas was easy because I simply filled it with ornaments. I had a little bit of difficulty finding something that worked. I have super cute placemats on the table that have a little bit of glitter in them and I decided to let the glitter be my inspiration.
Here’s the bowl by itself.
I loved the smell of these pinecones that I had picked up from Lowes from Christmas so I wanted to incorporate them some how. So…
I painted them with pink glitter. I didn’t realize how pretty the underside of the pine cone was until I took this picture. It looks like a rose, doesn’t it?
I picked up sparkly hearts from Michaels for a buck and added them to the bowl. I love the way the sparkles and glitter catch off of the bowl.
Here’s a picture from above. On the crystal candlesticks are the hearts upside down.
I decided I needed to continue with the glitter so I decided to dress up the sign that we have for the door. I’ve had this sign since before we were married. I love the sayings but it needed a little something. Definitely, glitter! I decided to put an M at the top to start with and then I added x’s and o’s in between the hearts.
Once I added what I wanted in marker I painted over it with glitter. Glitter for me makes all the difference.
Here it’s on our front door. Yes, those are tennis rackets where the number of our condo is. We live in a condo complex called the Racquetball condos. If I could change it I would, but it has to stay uniform throughout the complex. No fun!
