I recently shared this project over at Cheerios & Lattes, who I will be sponsoring for the month of August and absolutely LOVE. The inspiration for this project entirely comes from Riley. She has a bit of a sweet tooth and like any good parents (winks) we know how to inspire her how to get something done. Some may call it a bribe, but we prefer to call it an incentive. I recently made an Incentive Jar for our daycare lady and thought it was necessary to have one at Grandma and Grandpa’s house.
For this project I felt it wasn’t necessary to be so politically correct with “incentive” jar. I called it like it was. It’s grandma and grandpa’s “spoil” jar. I used Elmer’s Painters Opaque Paint Markers and washi tape on a ceramic jar that I found at Christmas Tree Shop.
We are extremely fortunate that my parents live close enough that they helped take care of Riley when she was first born and I had to go back to work. I went back to work when she was only two months old and never could have done it if I had had to send her to a daycare center. Riley adores my parents and I am so thankful for both of them.
If you haven’t already used washi tape on a project, I highly recommend it. There are so many uses for it. One of my favorite projects that I used washi tape on was my birdhouse project. I’ve also used it on a tile photo gift. The washi tape creates a fabulous border because it creates a straight edge. The jar that I found at Christmas Tree Shop is perfect because Grandma and Grandpa can store whatever treat they want in the jar and it’ll stay fresh. The grandkids will also never know what’s in it because it is ceramic.
