After joining in the party make sure to check out my How to Grow Your G+ Following.  You’ll want to continue to find new people to add to your circle so that today is just a jumping off point.

How to Grow Your G+ Following

Alright, now you’re ready to grow your circles and find some fabulous people to follow.  In order to join in make sure to follow the rules.  This isn’t Facebook so please make sure you read the rules before joining in.

1.  You MUST add the co-hosts to one of your circles.

2.  You need to link up your Google+ url to your profile so that people will know what circle to put you into (foodie, crafter, diyer, etc.).

3.  Do NOT leave a comment on someone’s post within Google+ letting them know that you’re following them and would they please follow you back.  If you want them to add you, leave them a sweet comment about their post and leave it at that.

4.  Use the hashtag #growyourgoogleplus and share one of your favorite posts new or old.  Be sure to check the hashtag and leave some comment love and +1’s on those posts.

5.  Have FUN and mingle!  The hop will be open all week so be sure to stop back and see if there are any late entrants.

I always see those “I followed you, please follow me back” comments. That’s not just a cheap way to earn followers, that’s also (extremely) pathetic! Everytime someone posts a comment like that on my blog posts, I automatically flag them as spam.

By the way, very informative post regarding the power of Google+. Yes I agree, if you’re into SEO + Social Media Marketing, Google+ is definitely a great way to promote your site. It’s like, “If you wanted to impress Google, focus on Google+!”.
