The Melrose Family

Easy Brunch Recipes

When I think of Christmas I automatically think of Christmas morning.  The entire day is wonderful because you get to celebrate the day with family and friends, but for me the traditions start Christmas Eve and last through mid-morning.  Riley understands Santa’s purpose now so we started the Elf on the Shelf this year.  Many times I managed to forget and had to race downstairs before her to move “Misella Bella Gella” {We’re clearly in the rhyming phase}.  We lead up to the main event of Christmas morning, by setting out Santa’s cookies and a carrot for the reindeer.  The real magic starts Christmas morning when Riley comes downstairs to the gifts, the half eaten cookies, missing carrot and an empty glass of milk.  In order to focus on the girls, I’ve put together some Easy Brunch Recipes that will allow me to stay out of the kitchen and in the mix of all the magic.

Back to School Breakfast: Lemon Poppy Seed Jam Filled Muffins

Back to school is right around the corner and we all know that the most important meal of the day is breakfast.  Two of my absolute favorite flavors are lemon and strawberry so I put them together in this fabulously quick and easy Lemon Poppy Seed Jam Filled Muffins. The best part of these muffins are the star shape.  They make a perfect breakfast for your little shining star.
