  • 1/2 cup butter, unsalted
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp water
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1-1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line baking sheets with parchment paper.

  2. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugars together until smooth.

  3. Add sea salt and baking soda and stir.

  4. Mix in egg, water, and vanilla until smooth.

  5. Slowly add flour, half at a time and stir until fully combined.

  6. Fold in chocolate chips.

  7. Scoop dough with a large cookie scoop (2 TBS) and place on a lined cookie sheet 2 inches apart.

  8. Bake for 12-14 minutes, rotating halfway through.

  9. Cool on cookie sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a  wire rack.

  10. Store in an airtight container or freeze.

Recipe Notes

*I only get 6 cookies per baking sheet.

**Recipe may be doubled to make more cookies.
