Apple Pie Cupcakes Recipe

The apple pie filling is made the day before the cupcakes so that it has a chance to cool before placing it into the cooled and hollowed-out spice cupcakes.

Ingredients

  • Apple Spice Cake Mix
  • 5 - 6 apples peeled and chopped
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients in a bowl and sauté the mixture to soften the apples. Once the apples are less firm, place them in a Tupperware to cool overnight.
  • Make the Spice Cupcakes according to the directions on the box.
  • Once the cupcakes are cooled, hollow them out and spoon the apple pie filling in the center.
  • Place the top of the cupcake back on top and frost.
