Cuisine American
Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 12 minutes
Servings 4

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 10 ounces Italian sausage casings removed
  • 2 medium green bell peppers thinly sliced
  • 2 medium red bell peppers thinly sliced
  • 1 medium red onion thinly sliced
  • 1 pound pizza dough homemade or store-bought
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
  • ½ cup Greek yogurt
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ½ cup fresh parsley chopped
  • 2 medium garlic cloves minced
  • ½ lemon juiced
  • Sea salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 450˚F.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and add the sausage. Break it up as you cook until lightly browned, approximately 4 to 5 minutes.
  • Add the peppers and onions to the sausages. Season with salt and pepper, to taste. Cook until the peppers are soft and slightly brown.
  • Prepare a baking sheet or pizza pan lined with parchment paper and roll out your pizza dough on top.
  • Spread the tomato paste over the dough and add the mozzarella cheese on top. Arrange the sausage and pepper mixture on top of the cheese.
  • Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 13 to 15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown around the edges and the cheese melted.
  • While the pizza is baking, create the garlic sauce by combining yogurt, mayonnaise, parsley, garlic, and fresh lemon juice in a small bowl and mix.
  • Remove the pizza from the oven and divide into 8 slices. Drizzle the garlic sauce over the top and serve.
