Crock-Pot Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal

Ingredients

  • 1 cup steel-cut oats
  • 3 medium apples cored and diced
  • 1 cup fresh apple cider
  • 3 cups water
  • ½ cup pecans chopped
  • 1 ½ tablespoon honey preferably local
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground allspice.
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon salt to taste
  • Real maple syrup

Instructions

  • In a greased Crock-Pot, mix oats, water, cider, apples, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and salt.
  • Cover the slow cooker and allow the oats to cook on low for 6 to 8 hours. Check for doneness at 5 hours.
  • Allow the oat mixture to cool slightly before spooning it into bowls. Top with fresh chopped apples, pecans, and some real maple syrup if desired.
