35 November Chalkboard Calendar Ideas for a Busy Family

September 22, 2026 by [email protected] Leave a Comment

A chalkboard by the kitchen turns a chaotic November into a month you can actually see. It holds the weekly schedule, Thanksgiving prep, and kids' chores all in one spot.

Our November weekly family planner chalkboard with rows for each day and small doodles

With 35 chalkboard layouts to choose from, you can mix a full month grid with countdowns for turkey day, guest lists, and gratitude prompts your kids will love filling in.

Classic Calendar Grids

1. Full Family Month Grid

Full Family Month Grid: a framed chalkboard sign showing "NOVEMBER", hand-drawn in fall chalk colors, with a small house doodle and a turkey tucked into the top corners.

"NOVEMBER" stretches across the top in bold white block capitals, with a full calendar grid of boxes numbered 1 through 30 underneath in rust chalk. A tiny house and turkey doodle sit in the top corners.

This works best hung in the kitchen where everyone passes by daily. Keep the numbers evenly spaced so there's room to jot quick notes in each box.

2. Hosting Week Marked Grid

Hosting Week Marked Grid: a framed chalkboard sign showing "NOVEMBER", hand-drawn in fall chalk colors, with a small chalk star drawn over the Thanksgiving week to flag hosting days.

"NOVEMBER" appears in tall white script across the top of a full calendar grid, with three days around Thanksgiving marked by small chalk stars in burnt orange, connected by a dashed line to flag them as hosting days.

Mount this near the entryway so guests get a friendly heads-up. Draw the star big and bold so it catches the eye first.

3. Fill-In Family Grid

Fill-In Family Grid: a framed chalkboard sign showing "NOVEMBER", hand-drawn in fall chalk colors, with a border of small autumn leaves along the top edge.

"NOVEMBER" is written in rounded white block letters above an empty calendar grid, ready for the family to fill in each date by hand. A border of small autumn leaves runs along the top edge.

Leave this one blank until the first of the month, then let each family member add their own events. Kids love claiming a square with their own handwriting.

4. Month-at-a-Glance Planner

Month-at-a-Glance Planner: a framed chalkboard sign showing "NOVEMBER", hand-drawn in fall chalk colors, with a few small acorn doodles scattered along the bottom.

"NOVEMBER" sits in large white script at the top, with a row of seven empty chalk-line boxes below the weekday letters, left blank to fill in by hand. Small acorn doodles run along the bottom edge.

Place this planner where you check your phone each morning, like near the coffee maker. It gives a quick glance at the whole month without any scrolling.

Weekly Family Planner Boards

5. Our Week Ahead Board

Seven small boxes sit across the top, one for each day of the week, left empty for chalk notes. Below them, "Our Week Ahead" is lettered in a mix of white script and rust block capitals.

This board suits families who reset plans every Sunday night. Fill each box with one main task so nobody feels overwhelmed by a crowded square.

6. Family Command Center

"Family Command Center" is lettered in bold white block letters at the top, with a single row of seven boxes below it labeled Monday through Sunday for daily notes and a tiny pushpin doodle in one top corner.

Hang this by the door everyone uses most, like the garage entry. It works well as a catch-all for reminders that don't fit anywhere else.

7. Who's Doing What Today

Who's Doing What Today: a framed chalkboard sign showing "Who's Doing What Today", hand-drawn in fall chalk colors, with four blank lines beside four small boxes, one for each family member's name.

"Who's Doing What Today" curves across the top in rust script, with four blank lines beside four small boxes below, one for each family member's name. The lettering size shrinks slightly from left to right for a playful look.

This board keeps mornings from turning into a guessing game. Assign each person's line the night before so everyone wakes up already knowing the plan.

8. Pickups and Drop-Offs Board

Pickups and Drop-Offs Board: a framed chalkboard sign showing "Pickups and Drop-Offs", hand-drawn in fall chalk colors, with five blank lines beside five small car-wheel doodles.

"Pickups and Drop-Offs" spans the top in white block capitals, with five blank lines beside five small car-wheel doodles drawn in warm brown chalk. Each doodle sits right next to its matching line.

This board saves busy parents from double-booking the car. Keep it near the keys or garage door so it's the last thing you see before leaving.

"Faith, Family, Thanksgiving" is lettered across the board with each word in a different chalk color: white, rust, and warm brown. Three small interlocking rings are drawn beneath the lettering, one ring for each word.

This board works well as a simple statement piece near the dinner table. Keep the rings overlapping evenly so they read as one connected symbol.

How to Draw a Chalkboard Calendar

Start with a ruler and a chalk marker: lay out a light grid of equal boxes first, so every row of dates or planner boxes lines up straight before you touch a single number or word.

Letter the header first, biggest and boldest, then fill in the smaller rows and boxes after, so the spacing works outward from the top.

At the end of the week or month, wipe the whole board clean with a damp cloth and start fresh. The grid lines wipe off just as easily as the numbers do.
