This BBQ Bacon Chicken Kabobs recipe is a must try this summer!

I've probably said this time and time again, but I love when the weather gets warm because it means less cooking for me.  My husband man's the grill and I just have to worry about the sides which is a cinch.

For Avery's First Birthday Party I went with a Hamburger & Hot Dog Bar and we also whipped up some of these BBQ Bacon Chicken Kabobs.  We recently spent time with my husband's family and I always feel like there's a little bit of southern influence in these chicken kabobs.  Psst....did you notice there's BACON!

Are you in need of the perfect chicken recipe for your barbecue? Look no further because these BBQ Bacon Chicken Kabobs are going to knock your socks off!

As you've seen, I'm a huge fan of food on a stick.  Whether it's a Fruit Sparkler, Caprese Kabob or Cake Pop, it doesn't matter as long as I don't have to use utensils then I'm golden.  Whenever I think of Summer Cookout food, I usually think of kabobs so it was only natural to include them as another option aside from our hamburger and hot dog bar {I promise the recipes and pictures are coming soon}.

What makes this BBQ Bacon Chicken Kabob recipe so good?

One of the best things about these kabobs {aside from the BACON, of course} is that there is no marinade or rub required.  This makes assembling the kabobs super easy and very little mess.

Ingredients needed:

For these BBQ BACON Chicken Kabobs, you'll need an onion, red pepper, half a pound of bacon strips and chicken cut into bite size pieces.

How to make BBQ Bacon Chicken Kabob?

We simply folded the bacon into little accordion pieces and then pierced it with the kabob.  Just before throwing these onto the grill, sprinkle them with salt and pepper.

As the kabobs are cooking you'll want to brush them with BBQ sauce.  We've tried all different kinds, but I'm partial to Kraft's Original Sauce.  I love the smoky flavor with the sweetness.   It's the perfect combination for just about any food.

Depending upon the sizes of your chicken will determine the grilling time, but you certainly don't want to dry the chicken out.  We always add one last brush of BBQ sauce just before serving.

I have been doing bacon wrapped chicken strips about the same way. One day I bought a bunch of boneless chicken breast on sale as well as thick sliced bacon, I like to clean and prepackage everything when I buy in bulk. I knew that we liked the bacon wrapped chicken so I cut the breast in strip and wrapped them before I froze them. I use a seal a matic for all my freezer things and I am not sure if it helps but when we had the ones that were frozen with the bacon and chicken together everyone felt the chicken had much more flavor, also these were on the large size chicken breast and we felt they were more tender then normal not sure if the bacon fat helps but they were a HUGE hit and a must redo.
