Cupcake Centerpiece Tutorial

I hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving with family and friends.  We traveled down to Virginia Thanksgiving morning to spend the weekend with my husband's family.  It was great to see them and Riley had a blast with her one year old cousin Hunter.  I'm hoping that Riley will keep trying to be a big help just like she was with Hunter.  Love her!  Unfortunately, on Saturday I woke up with a stomach bug that made our six hour ride home torturous.  I was down and out for the count since Saturday, but I'm back to share the centerpieces for Riley's Cupcake Fairy 3rd Birthday party.  You might remember that over the summer I was already planning her party and I shared my Magic Wand Tutorial.  Well, I've been a busy little bee since then.

The best part about these centerpieces is that I used materials that I already had on hand.

I used cupcake liners and glued the Styrofoam balls to the cupcake liners.  I then hot glued rolled pieces of pink tissue paper all around the ball to act as frosting.  The final addition was two red beads hot glued to the top.

For the bottom of the centerpieces, I reused the buckets from my Minnie Mouse Centerpieces from Riley's 2nd Birthday.  I used a cupcake punch that I glued onto the white polka dots and tied a green tulle ribbon around the rim.  I filled the bucket with sand from Riley's sandbox and attached everything together with a wood skewer that I painted green and poked through the cupcake liner and into the Styrofoam ball.

I can't wait to put all the pieces together this weekend to share Riley's 3rd birthday with all of you.
