DIY Goldfish Valentine Tutorial

A simple Goldfish Valentine filled with goldfish crackers that are perfect Valentine for toddlers. via @jennymelrose

I recently became inspired by all of the Valentine cuteness on Pinterest.  I wanted something cute, yet functional for some of Riley's little friends.  Riley absolutely adores Goldfish so they became my inspiration for her Goldfish Valentine.  The materials were simple: yellow cardstock, thin ribbon, a goldfish coloring page from Big Activites as the template, snack bags and Goldfish Crackers.  Riley was super excited about the idea and informed me that I needed to make sure I made one for her.

This is an ideal Valentine for toddlers, but will definitely be a hit with preschoolers as well.  I mean, who doesn't love goldfish crackers, right?!  I'm pretty sure that for a couple of months Riley tried eating them for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Here's my monster taking out the printer cord after the pages were printed.  She then proceeded to type a wonderful letter on the keyboard (More like pounding upon the keys, but I needed to give it a better spin:)
This is the goldfish coloring page printed out on the yellow cardstock.
I then cut out the cardstock fish and wrote a cute note that I saw on Pinterest.

Next, I punched a hole in the mouth of the fish and into the snack bag.  I filled the bag with goldfish and it was done.

Here's the way I'll package the goldfish for Riley's friends.

One last shot.  How cute are these goldfish valentine?
