Infant Tutu Tutorial
I’ve had this post done for a week now and I can’t wait any longer to post it! Heather if you’re reading this, you better wait until after tomorrow to finish reading or you’ll ruin a surprise! With that being said I’ll excitedly continue. I have a niece on the way and I am super excited that I get to do all of the girly things over again. When I had Riley I didn’t plan for all the cute photo ops I would have. I want my niece to look decked out so I couldn’t let her just get pictured in the stenciled monthly onesies I made. My niece needs to have an infant tutu to wear with it!
I made this tutu similar to Riley’s No Sew Highchair Tutu. The only supplies needed are Wedding Tulle and elastic that you need to hot glue at the end to create the waist.
I tried out my first piece of tulle to see if the length worked from there I cut the rest of pieces of tulle about the same length. You don’t need to be precise because you can trim down the pieces one the tutu is done. Take the piece of tulle and fold it in half. Then hold the fold above the elastic.
Take the longer pieces and loop it over the elastic and under the folded piece above the elastic.
Pull the longer piece tight through the loop. The loop will hang down at the bottom of the skirt.
Here are all the pieces tight around the skirt.
The skirt is done, but I wanted to add a little something more to it.
I simply hot glued faux flowers to the outside of the tulle.
I love it! I can’t wait to see this on sweet baby Kylie! You can find all the rest of the details to Kylie’s Teddy Bear Baby Shower here.
