So I’ve gotten a ton of questions about Riley’s highchair tutu that I made for her Minnie Mouse 2nd Birthday, which you can find all the other details for her birthday here. The greatest part about this tutu was that there is no sewing involved! The supplies needed were:
1. Elastic band 1/2″ to 1″ thick
2. Two Rolls of Tulle, which were about 4-6″ wide
Seriously that’s it! I googled a no sew tutu tutorial and found multiple videos. I placed the sticky velcro squares around the tray of Riley’s chair and strategically placed the other piece of the velcro around the inside of the tutu. The biggest difference with the highchair tutu and the skirt tutu are that you need to keep the elastic long enough to wrap around the high chair. You can find a step by step tutorial on how to loop the tulle around the elastic here. I didn’t actually cut it. I tied it around the highchair. Once I had the tutu velcroed on, I tied the Minnie Mouse ribbon around the outside of the tutu to give it a finished look. The tutu took me about an hour and a half to make.

You can see that along the sides the ribbon dipped around the outside of the tray. I could have tried to hot glue the ribbon to the outside of the tutu, but I wanted Riley to be able to wear it as a tutu afterwards. She totally does too! Most of the time she wears it over her jeans! Love that girl! If you’re looking for the Bloglovin’ Blog Hop please click here.
