Halloween Decorations: Candy Corn Soap Dispenser

Hey there Friends!  It's Ariean from OneKriegerChick here to share how I turned my plain hand soap dispenser into a darling candy corn...perfect for Fall décor!  It's all about simple and easy when it comes to Halloween Decorations and what better way to do then to use items that you have lying around the house.  This soap dispenser upcycle is one that is versatile too.

Just think of all the possibilities!

While my boys are little and still get excited about Halloween treats, I like to add kid-friendly touches around the house.  I mean...How cool is it to squirt soap out of a candy corn!  My boys have been washing their hands much more frequently in the past few days...

Here's how I did it...

Start with a plain soap dispenser with a candy corn shape and peel off the sticker.

Empty and rinse the soap out.  I saved mine to pour right back in after painting.  Then spray paint the bottle with white spray paint suitable for plastic.  Allow to dry.

Tape off each section separately.  Paint and allow to dry before painting the next section.  Each color took two coats of paint for me.

When all sections have dried, spray a coating of clear sealer over the top.  I'm not 100% sure this was necessary, but I didn't want my paint coming off when it got wet.  So far, so good...and this soap dispenser has been getting a workout!

the sealer is a good idea. Acrylic paint is water based so it would not last long without some form of sealer. 🙂 very cute!
