Herb Garden Gift Basket

Last night I promised that I would share what I did with the top portion of the canvas shoe organizer and I'm keeping my promise.  I have to give a quick disclaimer that this is my mom's Mother's Day Gift so if you're reading this and you want to be surprised you should stop now.  Luckily, I'm pretty sure she won't be reading it because she is distracted by her new granddaughter Kylie Anne Russell.  My mom loves to garden, but usually she sticks to flowers.  She can name all of them and always gives the greatest tips to Joe since she knows that I don't have munch of a green thumb.  Before we had Riley we had an amazing herb garden, but it got taken over by Riley's sandbox, which I'll be showing this weekend.  My mom always loved the herb garden so I made my butterfly corkboard planter sticks and included it in the basket with the seeds for the herbs.
Here's a close up of the butterfly corkboard planter stick.
I took a canvas shoe organizer and poked holes through all of the pockets so that water can drain out of them.
I cut the top eight pockets off so that mom could use the shoe organizer as a canvas shoe planter.  The organizer came with three over-the-door hooks that I included in the basket.
I showed you yesterday how I turned the lower half of the organizer into my canvas shoe planter.
I packed the gift basket with potting soil, the canvas shoe planter, over-the-door-hooks, herb seeds with their corresponding butterfly corkboard planter stick, and shears for easy gathering of the herbs.
Here's the herb garden gift basket already to go.  Mom already saw my mason jar tea light for Riley's great-grandma (Gigi) and my Tile Photo for my sister (Aunt Katie) and she loved both.  I hope she loves her gift just as much.

Oh my gosh, I love this idea! One of my favorite wedding gifts was a little basket filled with herb plants. How can you beat a gift that is beautiful, smells great, and feeds you? Just lovely 🙂
