Hot Cocoa Snowman

Every morning before Riley and I leave for school. she goes rushing for our Christmas Countdown Calendar so that she can find out what our activity for that night will be.  I'm not quite sure who looks forward to the activity more, me or her.  {Giggles}  Last week, our activity was a hot cocoa date.  I couldn't make it a regular cup of hot cocoa.  Especially after I saw the Reindeer Hot Cocoa from Randi over at Dukes and Duchesses.  I was inspired and as I drove home from school I brainstormed how to make Riley's first cup of hot cocoa extra special.  Riley's absolute favorite Christmas movie is Frosty the Snowman and became my inspiration.

Why I didn't immediately land on the idea of a hot cocoa snowman is odd.  Especially when you take a closer look at the Snowman Mug and my Snowman Placemats.  I have a bit of an obsession.  Riley was thrilled with the snowman.  She loved devouring the marshmallows.

Hot Cocoa Snowman Intro

I had all of the ingredients necessary for the assembly of the snowman under my cabinet.  I used 3 large marshmallows, which I roasted with a lighter in order to make them sticky so they would stick together.  I used M&M's for the eyes and nose.  The scarf was made out of a Twizzler.  The hat was an Oreo Cookie that I topped with a chocolate covered marshmallow.  The final addition was the button Hershey Chips.  I sat the snowman on the edge of the mug and poured the hot chocolate in.  It was a delightful date and one that Riley has asked for again.

He's cute! Our hot chocolate topper is Mount Crumpet. Mmmmmm Winter and hot chocolate, a match made in heaven 😉
