What makes this Rainbow Art project a great St. Patrick's Day craft idea?
Life can certainly get busy and hectic with a house of boys. I try to give our house over at OneKriegerChick pops of color to give it a girly touch. Our Just for Kids Command Center is a perfectly example of color meets organization. Today I'm super excited to be here sharing projects for kids that are fun {and bright} with my Kids Rainbow Art project for St. Patrick's Day
This project is the perfect way to spend time with kiddo and work on something together. My boys LOVE to paint and have been really into drawing rainbows lately. With St. Patrick's Day coming up and with the dreariness of the cold weather, gray skies and all the snow covering the ground, why not create a bright piece of rainbow art!
Supplies Needed:

Let's get started...

How to make Rainbow Art?
My oldest is only in kindergarten, so he hasn't memorized ROY-G-BIV yet. To make remembering the order of the colors of the rainbow easier, I lined up the paint colors in order and put them in order on the plate.
Then, I just told him to paint stripes all the way across the canvas.

Love his finished Artwork...

Leaving it just like this would be perfectly fine, but we wanted to make it more for St. Patrick's Day.
Here's where mom (me) steps in...
Create a stencil without any fancy machine...I designed the image and text I wanted on the computer and printed it off. This can easily be done in Word or any other free online program like PicMonkey. Or...just download and print off my Lucky Us Stencil.

Cut out the lettering and place onto the canvas.
Lightly trace around the letters with a pencil.

Paint inside the pencil lines. I chose to use white for the letters and gold dimensional paint for the Lucky Horseshoe.

We had a ball working on a piece of artwork together! It's not often we get time just the two of us now that he's in school.

I loved this look so much that I created a St.Patrick's Day Lucky Printable with the same look. So stop on over and simply download it, print onto a heavyweight paper like cardstock, frame and enjoy!

This is an adorable idea! I loved your Tip Me Tuesday link this week. {thanks girl!} Would you like Tip Junkie to feature your blog post to over 200,000 creative women? If you upload this blog post into your Tip Junkie craft room using at least 2 images, 2 steps, and blog post URL then I can easily feature it in my RSS feed, home page, and all my social networks instantly. {squealing with delight} ~ Laurie {a.k.a. the Tip Junkie}
