Halloween is definitely one of my favorite holidays. Are you ready for all the spooktacular fun? We created a Skeleton Rice Krispies® Pull Apart Cake that is easy and delicious. The kids loved watching the skeleton come to life right in front of them as we molded each Kellogg’s®Rice Krispies® treat into a bone.

Skeleton Rice Krispies Pull Apart Cake
Kellogg’s®Rice Krispies® treats are a timeless classic dessert that kids of all ages love. My girls especially love to help make the Kellogg’s®Rice Krispies® treats. Since they are a no-bake dessert they know they don't have to wait long before until they can try the fruit of their labor. This was especially true for the day that we made this Skeleton Pull Apart Cake. My nephews were over for the day and the youngest one of them all was biting at the bit to get a piece. When I finally let him have a piece {because you know I have to get the skeleton fully formed for my pictures} it was as if he was waiting for me to snatch the Kellogg’s®Rice Krispies® treat right out of his hand. Can you just see the look in his eye? It's as if he's wondering when exactly the pictures are going to stop and my crazy aunt is going to take my treat away.
The kids always love making Kellogg’s®Rice Krispies® treats, but this cake was a bit different. My oldest kept saying that she felt like she was playing with clay. In order to get the kids to make the right size and shape bone, I first drew a skeleton onto the back of the pan that you see in the picture. I used an orange dry erase marker so that the kids could pick out the bone that they wanted to make. It was similar to creating a puzzle since each bone helped create the whole.
We thought the bats surrounding the skeleton was the perfect finishing touch. We had our own creepy scene right in front of us as a cake. If the kids weren't so bent on devouring the cake we probably would have made an entire Halloween scene complete with witches and broomsticks. That's the great thing about Kellogg’s®Rice Krispies®. Your imagination can take you anywhere with what you decide to create.
As you can see, not only did my nephew realize that I wasn't going to snatch away his treat, but he also fully enjoyed his bone from the skeleton cake. As did I! They were so good!
