What makes this Orange Creamsicle Sugar Scrub a great DIY idea?

Now that the holidays are over, I feel like I can focus more on myself.  If you've been watching my IG you've seen that I'm eating better and exercising.  I'm trying my best to take  care of myself for my girls.

I want them to see me at my best so that they can internalize how important it is to be a strong woman emotionally and physically.  Since I am kicking myself at the gym, I'm finding that I'm a bit sore and need something to indulge myself.

Rather than the indulging in foods that would put me off track, I'm choosing to create yummy sugar scrubs that remind me of food!  Our Orange Creamsicle Sugar Scrub not only smells amazing, but it literally is so pretty that Riley asked for a bowl to eat.

I like to keep my sugar scrubs to needing minimal ingredients.   I wanted something that was uplifting and invigorating so the entire scrub was inspired by the Citrus Fresh Essential Oil that is one of my favorites from the Young Living collection and is part of an amazing deal to kick off 2015 that you can find down at the bottom.

Supplies Needed:

You will need:

  • 2 tablespoons Suave Milky & Honey Splash Body Wash
  • 2 tablespoons Johnson's Baby Oil
  • 1 ½ cups Domino Sugar
  • 5- 6 drops Citrus Fresh Essential Oil {Be sure to check below for an amazing promotion}
  • Wilton Orange Gel Food Coloring
  • 2 4oz Ball Canning Jars
supplies needed

How to make Orange Creamsicle Sugar Scrub?

Start by adding the sugar to a large bowl and adding in the baby oil and body wash.  Mix these together and once they are combined add in the 5-6 drops of Citrus Fresh essential oil and a tiny bit of the orange gel food coloring.

A lot goes a long way with the gel food coloring so a toothpick dipped in the gel would be plenty.  The sugar scrub filled 2 4oz canning jars so if you need more of the scrub just double or triple it.   Plus, be sure to grab your Orange Creamsicle Sugar Scrub Free Printable Tags.

These make the perfect gift or if you're like me, you'll make one for a friend and then one for yourself.  I primarily use the sugar scrub on my elbows and legs.

I feel like it gives my skin a little added radiance and the citrus fresh essential oil is known for having a balancing effect that calms and yet aids in alertness.   It's the perfect easy luxury to add to the end of my day because it makes me feel centered and ready to conquer the next day.
