Why are Pulled Pork Sliders amazing?

One of the reasons I love pulled pork sliders is because of how easy they are to make. I make our pulled pork in the slow cooker and let the Smokey aroma of the pork cooking fill our house. It's definitely one of my favorite smelling meals.

The pulled pork is definitely best when it cooks for eight hours. Plus, you'll find that it's best to prepare the meat in the slow cooker in the morning because it requires brewed coffee as an ingredient. The recipe makes a ton of pulled pork so it's great for a crowd and if you have any leftover our Pulled Pork Baked Potatoes are out of this world.

🥘 Ingredients

  • Pork butt or shoulder
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Beef broth
  • Coffee
  • Garlic
  • Liquid smoke
  • ½ cup BBQ sauce (don't hesitate to add more if you want your sliders to be saucy and see below for more info on BBQ sauce options)
  • 12 Slider buns

🔪Instructions to make Pulled Pork Sliders

  1. Rub pork with salt & pepper.
  2. Place in a slow cooker (Instapot works too!) and set on low for 8 hours.
  3. Cover pork with all ingredients, except the BBQ sauce.
  4. After 8 hours remove the pork and shred it in a separate bowl.
  5. Add BBQ sauce and place in between slider buns.

Other Common Questions

Which are the different BBQ sauce options for making pulled pork sliders?

BBQ sauce is a key ingredient in making these sliders yummy and we do have some of our favorites that you can choose from-

Rufus Teague: Its Smokey flavor and touch of sweetness makes this BBQ sauce suitable for any recipe.

Cowtown: If you are looking for some extra heat and spice go for this one.

Lillie's Q: This sauce has a hint of tanginess making it the best suitable for pork recipes.

Also, if you want to go the extra mile and make your homemade BBQ sauce, you can follow this recipe.

What goes with pulled pork sliders?

They are absolutely perfect paired with corn on the cob and potato salad. Apart from that Coleslaw also tastes great with pulled pork sliders.

How long can you keep pulled pork in the fridge?

Your pulled pork will stay fresh for 4 days inside refrigerator. So it's a great idea to cook the pork in advance and do the assembling at the time of party/matchday.

What can I use in place of BBQ sauce for pulled pork?

If you want to make your pulled pork sliders more healthy, you can replace the store bought BBQ sauce with a homemade version and cut down on excess salt and sugar. Alternatively, you can also try a mustard or mayo based sauce to make these sliders healthier.

What kind of cheese goes well with pulled pork?

Cheese is a great addition that will make these sliders more appealing. We recommend you add Cheddar cheese to enhance the flavor of the pulled pork.

What is the best pork to use for pulled pork sandwiches?

Pork shoulder is the best cut of meat to use in these sliders. It will take the juiciness to the next level and make your sliders melt-in-your-mouth.

Can I substitute pork with chicken?

Absolutely, if you are not a pork lover and want to still try this recipe, go ahead and use shredded rotisserie chicken instead of pork.

My favorite OxO product is their mandolin slicer. It's so easy to use. I love scalloped potatoes, and can make them so much faster with the mandolin. I have many OxO gadgets in my kitchen and around the house.
